Generic Job Description for an Electrical Engineer
Electronics Engineers develop and design products, processes or devices in the field of low-power electricity. They work in a variety of fields including transport, aerospace, heavy industry and commerce.
Electronics Engineers are concerned with the development and behaviour of devices and circuits found in products such as computers, radio, television and video games.
Their typical work activities follow electronic projects through all stages from start to finish. Everyday activities might include design and development, research and testing through to manufacture and implementation.
Skills:
- Good mathematical skills
- Thorough computer literacy
- Good problem solving skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to produce detailed drawings and plans
- Ability to work well individually and as part of a team
Pay:
- Salary range depending on the company and sector
- Entry £18,000
- £50,000 or more at senior level with 10-15 years experience

Hours:
- Typically up to 40 hours a week
- Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines
Environment:

Qualifications:

- Maths, Science and Engineering related subjects are favoured
- Most degree courses require five GCSE’s grades A-C and two A-Levels
