Generic Job Description for a Television Presenter
Presenters work on all types of television production. They are the face of the production, whose responsibility it is to introduce material, inform and entertain the audience. Sometimes they work in front or a live audience, or in front of the cameras to an unseen audience.
Television Presenters can be seen on news programmes, music shows, game shows or televised sports events.
Their responsibilities may include researching material and topics, writing and learning scripts, interviewing guests and liasing with other members of the production team.

Pay:
- Entry £15,000
- £25,000 - £50,000 with experience
- £100,000 or more for high profile presenters

Hours:
- Hours vary depending on the type of production

Qualifications:
- No set entry requirements
- A degree in media studies or broadcast may improve chances of employment
- Most degree courses require five GCSE passes grades A-C and two A-Levels
- Talent is essential for employment

- On-the-job training may cover production specific processes and formats
- Short courses and training programmes are available through some broadcast organisations
