Generic Job Description for a Leisure Supervisor
Leisure supervisors provide a service to the public visiting a leisure attraction. Their role can involve many tasks such as cleaning, organising activities, catering, reception or administration work.
It is common for a Leisure Supervisor to have to interact directly with the public visiting the attraction to provide customer service and get them taking part in activities. They are usually responsible delegating tasks to a team of Leisure Workers.

Pay:
- Entry £8,000
- £10,000-£15,000 with experience
- £20,000 or more with experience and responsibility of a large team

Hours:
- Hours are dependent on the opening times of the leisure attraction
- Evening and weekend work is common
- Some Leisure Supervisors work shifts

Qualifications:
- No set entry requirements
- GCSE passes grades A-C in Maths and English may improve chances of employment
- A foundation qualification in Leisure and Tourism is helpful i.e. Vocational GCSE or GNVQ
- Apprenticeships are available
Training:
- An induction training course is common
- Professional development courses are offered by the Institute of Leisure and Amenity Management (ILAM)
- Many Leisure Supervisors start out as Leisure Workers to gain experience
