This VIP works for the London based casting agency Envenio. They represent Actors, Performers, Models and members of the general public hoping to break into TV and modelling. Their job involves looking casting individuals into jobs within the media industry.
Generic Job Description for an Agent
Agents manage artists and performers in the entertainment business. The artists they manage can be actors, singers, musicians, models, dancers or presenters.
They help to further the artist’s careers by promoting them to influential people within the business, finding work and contracts for the artists and managing their diaries by keeping track of all engagements.

- The ability to quickly develop relationships with people
Pay:
- Entry around £15,000
- £25,000 with a few years experience
- £40,000 or more for successful Agents

Hours:
- Typically 9-5, Monday – Friday
- Evening and weekend work may be required to attend performances and castings
Environment:
- Typically office based
- Some travel necessary to attend performances and castings
Qualifications:
- No set entry requirements
- Most employers look for five GCSE’s grades A-C
- Degree and Diploma courses in Performing Arts are available and may improve chances of success
Training:
- Most Agents start out working as juniors in the entertainment industry
- Training is mainly on-the-job
- NVQ’s are available for skills development
Opportunities:
- Most opportunities exist with agencies in and around London or other large cities
- Some Agents are self-employed or run their own agencies
- Entry into this business is highly competative
