Generic Job Description for a Charity Specialist
Charity Specialists may undertake a variety of functions depending on the size and sector of the organisation that they work for. They may undertake a variety of Charity related tasks in a small organisation or specialise in one area in a larger organisation.
Typical responsibilities include applying for grants, administration, budget setting, dealing with volunteers, fundraising, PR, and networking activities.

Pay:
- £13,000 - £20,000 depending on type of organisation
- £50,000 or more with experience

Hours:
- Typically 9-5, Monday – Friday
- Evening and weekend work may be required to meet deadlines
Environment:
- Office based
- Some travelling may be required to meetings
Qualifications:
- A degree or HND in a business or sociology related subject is valuable
- Experience working for the Voluntary Sector is useful
Training:
- Short courses are available specifically for people working in the Voluntary Sector
Opportunities:

- Jobs are available throughout the UK, but many large charities have their headquarters in London or other big cities
- Opportunities to work in overseas locations may be available
